The Founder

Dagmawit Tesfaye is the Founder and Creative Director of DAGMAWIT™ — an Ethiopian fashion house built on cultural integrity, exceptional craft, and a clear social purpose.

Her work has been showcased at Africa Fashion Week London 2025 and Hub of Africa Fashion Week 2024 & 2025. She has been featured three times in Vogue Italy magazine. These are not milestones. They are proof of what Ethiopian fashion can achieve when it is taken seriously.

Dagmawit built this house with intention. Inspired by motherhood, she created a child-friendly workplace where skilled mothers can build real careers without choosing between their work and their children. Every DAGMAWIT™ purchase directly supports these women.

Every piece is handwoven and handcrafted by Ethiopian artisans. No shortcuts. No outsourcing the hard parts.

DAGMAWIT™ works with traditional fabrics — including tibeb-bordered cotton — using techniques passed down through generations. The result is garments that carry cultural weight and are built to last.
